Everything is back to Norman... Well almost..

Today is the first official day of school here at the T house.  Christopher woke up bright and early, and was out the door while I was still brewing my first cup of coffee.  In this house coffee is a must for mom and everyone knows it.  I wished him good luck in high school, and sent up a silent thank you to God that  I was not the one teaching him Algebra 2 or Japanese 4 this year.  I mean, lets be real. Rosetta Stone is only going to get us so far.    As I sat on the sofa enjoying the silence I realized that my husband is old.  Yep, OLD!  In fact from now on I plan to tell everyone I married a man  a decade older then me.  Where has the time gone?  One day you are picking marbles out of their noses, and the next you are handing them their ID card, buss pass, and 5 bucks for lunch.  Lunch that he can now leave campus to go eat.   Would I look like an overbearing, crazy mom if I insisted he eat veggies in the morning with breakfast?  Because we all know he is not going to be saying "I'll just have the salad please", any time soon.

I had about 5 minutes to enjoy my silence and google aging pills for Ian, when Peyton meandered downstairs.  "Am I going to school today"?  Um, no  honey, next Tuesday.. "OK, good because its still really hard to button my pants".  ha ha!  I love 5 year old.  Mine in particular.  He has been fretting about school for weeks.  Not being able to button his own pants.   I explained that Dr. J will help him, and we sat and watched the news for a few minutes.  Does anyone else think the paperwork to get your kind into Kindergarten is insane.  And, when its a DODEA school its overkill..  I mean seriously, somehow I don't see a rash of kidnappings going on on military bases?  Once I dealt with the forms (one for allergies, one for asthma, lunch, field trips, emergency contacts, and so on)  I ran to medical for them to sign a form stating I do in fact immunize my kids..   Its all done, and kindergarten bound he is next week.  Dr. J is AMAZING!   Teachers like her are the reason I still have faith in the education system.

Noah made his appearance in Noah style. "Mom, can I have breakfast"?...  Yes, get something to eat and lets get started on your school work.  His day went well.  6 Th grade is no laughing matter.   There is serious work to be done.  He seemed to breeze right through.  He has been working 2 days a week all summer on math and reading... This next few weeks I really want to focus on writing.  His ability to write a good comprehensive story.  Book reports will also start next week.    I let Noah pick out a series that he wants to read, and we will start there.  History is still a work in progress.  I am thinking that Ian will be his teacher there.  Ian loves history.  He went to school for it and everything.  Me, eh, not so much.  I am sort of in the its history, already happened, why harp on it camp.

Piper is working hard on being 10 months old!  She is into everything, and thinks the world revolves around her.  With daddy and 3 brothers in the house I am playing hell trying to convince her that the sun does not rise and set with her.  She is walking, those funny little baby, wobbly steps.  I love it.  Watching her run rough shot over the boys has sure been fun this summer.

Day one was a success.... Now to save this in my browser so in 3 months I can go back and remember that I do love home schooling, DODEA schooling, and chasing babies...

I realize that I must have been following your blog for... oh, about 3 years now? And, wow, how things change in all that time!

HIGH SCHOOL? High school...

Hm. If the husband is 10 years older than the wife, then he gets to be a sexy older man, right?

Let me tell you, if the wife is 10 (or more) years older than the husband, everybody assumes that she must be a cougar.

It ain't right. ;)

How is it that everyone's kids keep growing up so fast and I don't age? Oh wait, never mind. That was a dream.

So. Been keeping busy?
