Days like tomorrow......

Once again I find myself doing something unique to Japan. Tomorrow I am going on a field trip with Noah's class. Yeah, yeah, I know they have field trips in the states. We did live there once.. A long time ago. I didn't have kids in school then, but I remember going when I was young. And, unless the school budgets are that bad I assume kids still load up on buses and go well where ever kids living in America go for field trips. Maybe the zoo? I seem to remember going to the zoo.

Anywho, tomorrow bright and early we will board the big yellow school bus (Yes, we have sort of Americaish looking school buses) and we will be off to Egami Elementary school. Yep, we are going from one school to another.

Our supply list of things to bring: Hat, flip-flops, change of clothes, towel, and a plastic bag. We will arrive at the school, visit with the students and then walk with the students to the rice fields nearby and plant rice! How cool is that? Noah and I are super excited. My camera battery is charging as I type and our packed bento (lunch) is prepared and in the fridge.

Days like tomorrow are why we live where we live.. Days like tomorrow make being so far away from family and friends worth it. Days like tomorrow give my children memories and experiences they will cherish forever. Days like tomorrow... Are just as exciting for me as they are for them!

I hope you have a memorable day tomorrow..

Yes. I can guarantee that kids DO still go on field trips. To zoos and aquariums to be exact. (see my lasted post!)

Have fun!!

Have fun!! I love getting out and exploring things we couldn't do in the states. Both our boys were born in the states, but our youngest was only about 18months when we moved here. So this is all he knows, it's pretty cool to compare his life experiences with a couple of cousins who were born around the same time.

I think it is cool what you are doing here. My sister and I are 3rd culture kids....and our worldview is DEFINITELY different! Great to meet you!
