Frustrated! Give me your tried and true secrets.

When we moved into our humble abode I noticed the gym RIGHT BEHIND MY HOUSE! I took that as a sign. All of the wonderful food I have been shoveling in for the past 4 years has caught up to me. Coupled with the fact that the only exercise I accomplished was with a fork, and I had packed on a good 30 pounds. Yes, I had a baby, and yes, I blame him daily. It helped when Peyton was 1 and then 2. I could just say "I have baby weight". But, what does one do when said baby is potty trained, and putting on his own socks?

One hits the gym! I have a love hate relationship with the gym. I love the fact that after I work out I have more energy, and I am dropping the pounds. BUT! I hate going, every day I drag myself there. Yes, I know, I will grow to love it. Or so Ian tells me every chance he gets. My wonderful, loving, humble (can you feel the sarcasm) husband enjoys running. He actually gets excited when he has an hour or 2 to run. And, he must run on the road. Where he can enjoy the sights, breath the fresh air, and blah, blah. I think he is totally bat shit crazy. But, that is another post.

We were all moved in, and I had a couple of hours in the morning, so I started going every day. Faithfully. Like clock work. I dressed in my yoga pants (the most annoying workout gear on the planet). I take my water bottle, and I POD and all was going GREAT! My pants are smaller, and I can definitely tell a difference. The one place that doesn't seem to be changing is my stomach! I am doing the abs workout (you know the free ones on YouTube), and it is doing NOTHING! Not a thing. I still seem to have pregnant belly. It just seems to sit there. Mocking me endlessly. At this point I have no idea what to do.
So blog land give me your secrets, tell me what it is you do to get rid of your belly fat? If things keep up at this rate I will have stick legs and arms, and in the end my belly will look bigger. ACK!

Ok, I like to walk 5 miles, do an hour of Yoga or play racquetball, and enjoy exercise overall. Soooo I'm probably not the best person to respond.

As for the abs, stick with it. All the crunches and whatnot tighten the muscles.

Keep up the cardio, and as the weight melts, you WILL see the work done on the abdominal muscles paying off.

Promise! (I've got these nice lines on either side of my stomach and I'm not preying mantis thin in the rest of my body.)

Also, you totally get a "pass" with regard to baby weight until a child is, um, 4, I think. Gavin was 4 when I realized I suddenly had time to work out and lose that weight.

You can do it! You're already doing it! Keep at it!

Well, if you're working out regularly and it is mainly your tummy that is your challenge area then it sounds like it comes down to your diet. From my experience it'll be the carbs and dairy products that you're carrying there. My body is very similar where I can workout but if I don't watch my diet my tummy will remain no matter how much cardio I do! So recommend cutting the carbs, including wheat bread! It's still a carb and you will see a difference. Also, little to no cheese and the same with milk. Good luck!

Okay so I did not start out liking running and had every excude in the book about why I could'nt until one day I was at 215 and getting bigger. But I do like the sights on the road. My wife is beautiful just the way she is anyway but if she likes it you go baby. And where is the whole crazy post hmmmm? You need the green jello babe.

Start off slow, get a pedometer to track your results to, Start off with do brisk like steps walks for 20 and build up to 1.6 km (an ipod with kick butt music helps)!

Was that your hubby commenting on your blog? How cute! XOXOXO

I don't know what the heck works. I have recently started walking and I'm so darn big and fat that I can only do that for 15 minutes or so at a time . . . so I have a lot of work to do to get to where you are.

When I get there . . . I'll let you know.
