Noah has come home EVERY SINGLE DAY this week in tears. Full blown melt down. He has been obstinate, and argumentative. That is not our Noah. He does not want to return to school. We listened to what he had to say, talked WITH him about what he wanted and decided that starting tomorrow he will only attend school for 1 hour a day. He wants to go for choir, and art. But, NOTHING else. The half day is just not working for him. To be honest it wasn't really working last year either. Ian and I really wanted him to get the therapy that we think he needs. There has to be a better way. He has woken up the past 3 school days feeling sick, and looking for any way to stay home. I mentioned to Ian last night that I think we needed to talk with Noah about what is going on. The second my son said to me "mom, I feel stupid", our decision was made. Therapy be damned, we will just have to find another way to help him.
Wrote the letter... now let me take a nap.

I'm sorry to hear that Noah's half days weren't working out, but glad that you were ready with a solution. And it is good that he wants to stick with choir and art. :)
Children can be truly awful. As they get older, they can't seem to accept differences. Everyone has to be the same or therefore they are open to taunting and mockery. It is sad that they can be so mean and judgmental.
Looking forward to knowing how everything works out now for Noah!
Good for you on doing what is best for your child. As a Mom with a child who has some school issues,I had to do what was best for my kid.In the long run my son is happier being at home learning where others do not make fun of him.He still gets the therapy he needs but I control the situation,no more unhappy kid.Good Luck!
Good for you for acting quickly and effectively, so many just take a laid back "wait and see" approach and once the damage is done . . . it can be hard to undo.
Do the wishes come true when you ring that bell? If so, can you send me one of those bells, LOL. ;-)
Poor Noah! But good for you for acting quickly. Enjoy your time.
You guys are so awesome that you listen to your kids and do what's best for them! Noah is actually very lucky, and he'll come around and feel good about himself once you get the right ratio of school/homeschool for him. It just PAINS me to think some kids feel that way but have no choice but to go to school for SIX long hours because homeschooling isn't possible for whatever reason. Argh! I hope you find the right solution soon!
Lucky Noah to have such smart parents! You'll all be just fine!
Send me your new address!!! I have 24's sitting here calling out your name!
Grrr! Reading that Noah is getting grief from some of the kids made me so mad. I think of him as "my little buddy Noah" when I read your blog!
I'm so glad that you are willing to do what it takes for Noah (and, all of your boys for that matter) to be happy. I hope that all your wishes come true. That is a cool video! Thanks for sharing it with me.
Hugs!!
