Which way is up??

We are getting down to the wire. There is still so much to be done. If I have to sort through one more thing in my house I am going to cry.. I have lists ALL OVER my house. Lists upon lists. And, right now we need them. I am so upside down I fear we could end up forgetting one of the kids on our way out.

We have had confirmation that within days of our arrival Ian will be leaving. We are scrambling to get everything he needs ready. This leaves me looking for a Japanese style house alone. It's all good (as the kids say). After talking to Jennifer and Alisa I have a priority list.

The things I am looking for are a washer and dryer, a park close by, and a small grocery store within walking distance. I have given up the dream of central heat and air! Having a western style kitchen is also a pipe dream. If I get them great, if not we will be just fine.

Our sofa has been measured, and I hope and pray I can find a house big enough to fit through the door. That could be rough.

After much discussion Ian and I have decided to buy a Japanese style bed. How exciting...

The boys and I are going to think of house hunting as an adventure. Part of me wants a traditional Japanese house. Rice paper walls and all. The other part of me understands I have a 3 year old who loves to color my floor with markers.

OK, enough complaining.. Back to the grindstone.

How exciting! Slightly terrifying?

Saying a prayer that you find the right fit for your family. :o)

Good luck with the house hunt. I wish Ian had a bit more time before deploying, but I think that chaos in times of stress is somehow part of the Gov. plan for military families.

What? You have a 9 day old baby that's on a ventilator? Time to deploy! Seriously? Your wife just got her residency card? That means its time for an international move.

Keep smiling - and letting us live vicariously. :-)

Wow, what a load! It sounds like you're handling it admirably, though. Not sure I could...

I hope you find the perfect house! And, when/if you ever have time to answer questions from the merely curious: what's different about a 'Japanese-style bed'?

Good luck! I know everything will work out.

Oh, girl, you sound busy busy BUSY! We moved a few months ago, so I kind of know how it is, but your move has so much more added drama that I'm just going to send my warmest sympathies. You go, SuperMom!

If you get a chance, carve out a few minutes for yourself today and have a Happy Mother's Day.
