OK, so it's almost the same.. True we are not flying into outer space, and it's totally not dangerous at all. In my case I have kids, and well OK it's not remotely the same. I just like this version of the song. BUT! We have our flight itinerary. We are in fact leaving...... Flying to Seattle, then Denver, then on to OKC. We are all super excited to get home and spend a month (yep, 30 entire days) with family and friends. So, go ahead listen to it twice. You know you want to.

The TSgt at MPF said we need a Power of Attorney for the passports.
After I stopped laughing at him, I emailed David and said, "I need your assignment RIP and a Power of Attorney saying I'm allowed to get a passport for myself and Gavin. Because a 34-year-old woman who is the natural mother of her own son can't do ANYTHING without your permission when it comes to the military."
Still laughing about it...
Well, he has an exercise this week, so he's going to base legal NEXT Monday to get all the paperwork (I've got 7 special Powers of Attorney as it is since he left in November!) and then he's going to scan it and email it to me to print, and bring to MPF with the applications and photographs.
I've never had to PCS overseas, so I just gathered everything I need (birth certificates, marriage certificate, blood sample, urine sample, DNA test... lol) and put it all in a folder to carry with me to any base appointments.
(By the way, to all non-military folks, I'm kidding about all those bodily-fluid samples and the DNA. Or am I?)
